10 years later.....

Ten years later, I read my thoughts again.....Have my thoughts changed? Profoundly so.....Want to know what I think now? The better question is... What do I know? I'm a mystic ..... I have learned how to live... That should be taught in schools... How to live.... I enjoy life everyday... I know who I am.. outside the labels I have acquired.. Outside of others peoples good or bad opinions of me...once I pushed the labels aside.... I found the life there.. The life that never ends.... Yes the body, brain, and stuff they have accumulated are temporary... But not the real life that abides beneath..,, the life form known on earth as Paula... Who or what is that life that has revealed itself? I know... Do you? I want to tell you! So much. Maybe I will soon.....

Death Views

Yes, I have been thinking about death more these days than ever before. I have explored how some other cultures in the world view death and not only are these views different but fascinating.
I decided that I needed to adjust my personal view of death because before my view was controlled by religious dogma. Not bashing religion at all, but I needed to have my own view.I was once very religious now I consider my self just spiritual. Since this change I began to explore.
It absolutely baffled me when I read of the 911 terrorists views on death. They committed murder and suicide thinking that they would earn some great reward! Mahatma Ghandi believed that "Life and Death are but phases of the same thing, the reverse and obverse of the same coin. In fact, tribulation and death seem to me to present a phase far richer than happiness or life. I want you all to treasure death and suffering more than life..."
Ghandi continues.."We die to live once more, even as we live to die at last. Life therefore, is not an occasion for joy, nor death an occasion for sorrow. Death is at anytime blessed, but it is twice blessed for a warrior who dies for his cause, i.e. truth. Death is no fiend, he is the truest of friends. He delivers us from agony. He helps us against ourselves. He ever gives us new chances, new hopes. He is like a sleep, a sweet restorer."
I also read that Americans are the most AFRAID of death as opposed to any other culture. What do I think about death? I reason to myself that I did not ask to be here, nor did I have a choice in the matter. So , seeing that my existence was orchestrated by a Superior being, GOD, and that life on this ball is not fair or equal, is limited to a number of years, and not always good, I reason that there has to be something better for human beings after death in order to compensate for us having no say to be here.
Am I afraid to die not knowing what lies ahead in death? Possibly. Am I afraid of going to some place called hell? No, I don't believe in eternal punishment anymore. I have no answers and have concluded that I must simply enjoy my life everyday and do the best I can never to hurt anyone, but help where ever I can to make someone else's life better. Having purpose and self worth seems to give death a softer blow. What I do know is that I do not want to die now..not yet. I want to live. This world, this solar system, the seasons of each year are all organized and maintained without the help of a single human being. What God's purpose is is not clear to me. So I have to deal with what gives me peace of mind to guide my way. DEATH you are inevitable, this I know. I can't imagine where you will take me someday. I am still working on not being afraid. I am less fearful than I used to be, but for now you stay away. If anyone who reads this would contribute their thoughts on being afraid or not afraid I would be glad to hear them.
